Wonderful looking course, great clubhouse and staff. Easy taxi ride from Mold. Be aware if you plan to go to rent clubs, however, they do not allow you to play in non-golf shoes. They don't have golf shoes available to rent. For those of us casual travelers who like to take in a surprise round on short notice, we don't always pack our golf shoes. It left us out of what promised to be a great round of golf.

A three-day society break at Northop (staying at the impressive St Davids Park Hotel) gave a good insight into the complexities of this course. Starting with an uphill par 5 to loosen you up and a good par 3 to test your accuracy it then progresses to a number of holes, which require good positioning from the tee.
The second nine starts with a delightful short par 4 dogleg left but then follow two
poor holes (11 and 12) . The par 5 eleventh verges on the ridiculous for the average golfer. Some good finishing holes, particularly the sixteenth
Overall a good, challenging course with excellent clubhouse facilities.
