Hollinwell G C is a fantastic course. It creates a challenge for all golfers of all standards. There is one thing i feel that needs to be improved and that is the catering staffs manners. This is one thing that i feel needs to be sorted. Apart from that i had a fantastic round oof golf and really have considdered becoming a member. Keep up the hard work Hollinwell G C.

When i played the course for my first time earlier last year i felt it was in need of improvement. Being a member at St. Andrews i feel that many courses need improvements on before they are even considered for large tournements or national cups. As i have a friend who is a member at Hollinwell i was given the chance to play last week. This oppertunity was taken apon however i was very dissapointed as the course had changed, but not fr the better. This course has potential but is not being expressed enough through the course managers and groundsmen. I would love to see major improvements in the near future and hopefully next time i am invited to play by my friend i will enjoy it to its maximum.

Notts Golf Club is one of the best and most well kept courses around. The
pro shop and facilities are great and the course itself is fonominal. More
big events should be played here as my personal opinion its better than most
highly ranked courses. The greens are lightening and the fairways are like
carpets, the rough is so hard to get out of so if your in there PICK UP. I'm
delighted and feel good of myself for playing such a wonderful course.

We played Notts G C Hollinwell, as a mixed foursome, in May. We stopped by one evening to acquaint ourselves with the place, and asked if visitors could play. I am not sure who the other posters met, but the members we met were very friendly and accommodating, and seemed pleased that we would wish to play there. Perhaps it was the weather, which was beautiful, but I think not.
It was fantastic! The course is a real challenge to those of us used to American park-style courses. The gorse is something new and unholy to us. But if you want a taste of what courses were like before we started building them, visit this one. It has a rich heritage in British golf. And if you perceive the members to be arrogant, you probably don't remember that this is, after all, their private club, and you are invading their airspace. Act like a guest, and you will be treated as one!

A superb golf course, each hole has character and is an excellent test. Unfortunately Holinwell is without doubt the most unfriendly and arrogant golf club I have ever visited.
Cold and unwelcomming, the best strategy is to ring up, book your tee time, play and enjoy the wonderful course, then retire to some of the excellent local pubs or restaurants nearby. Course 9/10 Clubhouse 0/10

A good test of golf but the rough is thick and the greens are hare hard and fast so beware!

A splendid course - a real joy to play. Located in rather boring countryside it is set in a natural bowl. It is a pleasure to walk. Women and visitors are not too welcome- it seems a bit out a caricature of all that it is worst about English Golf Clubs.
