Having played this couse recently thought i would put a few thing right. Firstly the staff and members were extremly friendly and couldnt do enough for us. Mostly agree that the course is both difficult and easy in parts. The 'bomb ally' can even be dangerouse if you havent played before. The long par three is certainly daunting but if played sensibly you should be able to score points as it is index 1 [not many par threes can say that]All in all we had a good day, it is a bit hilly and would recommend buggies if your fitness is not up to much. One last note, the 17th.Unless your a very big hitter don't try taking too much off the corner, a true card wrecker. Good luck.

As a relatively beginner to golf,i found this course quite hard-especially the 4th hole and the 17th- which are both over a ravine. The first three don`t offer any particular challenge and break you in nice and gently.
We found the 7th hole quite confusing as fairways seem to mingle into one another, and the 9th has an enormous green. The back 9 holes are a bit easier(bar the 17th)witha VERY easy par three along the way. The course as a whole is a right old climb, and i imagine that when the wind is blowing it can cause havoc as it is very open.
Although i will play the course again sometime, I must remark about the attitude of the members to newcomers.THEY WERE VERY RUDE!!! If this had been our very first game of golf,we would never play again-anywhere!

Put out of your mind the roar of traffic whizzing by on the M 62, as you stand on the first tee; concentrate - don't hook left or you might be responsible for causing a major road traffic incident! This is an enjoyable course to play in that it offers something for every level of player.
For the beginner there are enough wide and welcoming fairways to boost confidence and for the more experienced player a number of holes that have the capability of scaring the living daylights out of you. The course boasts the most difficult par 3 in Yorkshire. Nestled against a hillside the course is somewhat exposed to the elements, therefore, this course's playability can change from week to week, day to day or even during a round.
My only criticism of the course in that due to playing demands from the members (in all weathers) the greens take a lot of punishment and are not always in the best of condition.
The pro shop is well but not extensively stocked as you would expect with a 'local' club. The clubhouse is clean and welcoming and the bar staff are friendly.

Tough course, particularly when the wind blows, the 3rd, 13th and 18th can be very testing into the wind. The two ravine holes often trip up the unsuspecting golfer....Not to mention one of the hardest par 3 holes around.....Friendly club and mega chip butties.....
