  • One of my favourite courses in Wales

I've played on most of the welsh courses in my time and Pontypridd has got to be one of the best. Beautiful views, great practice facilities and a friendly club house - it's got it all.

Signature holes..well I'd say the thirteenth. A downhill drive or three wood or even an iron for the mullahs amongst you, above and across the eigth fairway (elevated tee) down through an avenue of conifers to the close cut grass and then a wedge or short iron to a sloping green protected by two bunkers left and right with an unforgiving pond in front. Be accurate with your tee shot and it's (reasonably) simple, get in the big trees to the left or the conifer nursery to the right and...well... a bad contact here will bring the pond into play. Enough said!
To sum up, PGC is a course that rewards the accurate player rather than the big hitter. On the par fours, take perhaps one club less off the tee than normal to increase your margin for error, as you will REALLY want to be playing your second from the fairway, not the ruff stuff! Phone Wade now to book your tee time!

GREETINGS, from a former member and champion, ROY NICHOLAS and PETER MORGAN were known as the FEARFUL PAIR in the COCKS OF THE NORTH; they were unbeatable, un-defeatable. What great memories I have of all of the guys. I am now burning up the courses of Canada. Greetings to all whom remember me. PETER B MORGAN, winner of the A D THOMAS MEMORIAL CUP. Regards to you all.
