i am just starting to play golf at the age of 13. i am very fortunate to live near ramsdale park as it has a 18 hole par 3 course for me to play on without being embaresd at all when i play a dodgey shot. the course is of a high quality standerd offering a range of different and quite tricky holes; beetween 100 yards and 207 yards in length. i have only played on the high course once and have to say it is by far the best i have ever played. the front nine holes are all flat and offer a few good birdy chances. the walk from the ninth green to the 10th tee is very long very steep and very tiring. however once at the top there are brilliant views for miles around. the back nine is very different from the front as it is much more hilly and unless you hit a very accerate shot from the tees you are in serious trouble as their is no shortage of rough or fairway bunkers.
Best holes. 9th. suvere dogleged par4 to the left. 13th. nicknamed the dreaded 13th. a very tight fairway with a steep drop to the right of this 521 yard par 5. long hitterst will aim for the green in two but most will lay up leaving a short pitch onto a fairly large green avoiding the 3 bunkers on the right of the although there is a big dip in the fairway with only 100 yards left.
the nineteeth hole is a short par 4 dogleging to the left from the main door. no hazerds and a highly rewarding hole wicth can be enjoyed over and over again. 10/10.!

I am a complete beginner at this crazy game that is golf. I have been playing for only a year and I have been to a few golf courses around Nottingham. Ramsdale Park is undoubtedly the best for the keen golfers who are just starting. Their par three course is looked after in the same way as the full course and it's a full 18 holes as well, no duplicates. This means that you can have a full round of golf without getting to frustrated at losing your balls on those attempted long drives. The front and back nine are comprised of easy and tricky holes, especially the 8th and 11th. The 8th green is on a plateau and you play along the side of a steep hill... it looks daunting and it is. The 11th has the only water trap and if you hit too far left that's where it'll end up, so watch those hooks you right-handers.
Good quality along with excellent facilities 9/10
