Rosslare Golf Club enhanced the growth of the 'Holiday Resort'. In the early part of the 20th Century. Both the links and the resort have grown steadily in stature and reputation ever since. The Championship qualities of the links have been amply demonstrated in the many tournaments played at Rosslare. Club competitions are generally open to visiting golfers and this provides a feeling of being part of the club scene for our many.

| Rosslare Golf Links is ideally situated in the sunniest part of Ireland. The 18 hole course is laid out by the Irish Sea and is a traditional Championship Links designed by Hawtree and Taylor. The links was first opened for play in 1905. Nine new holes were added in 1992, designed by Christy O'Connor Jnr. The 27 holes provide an excellent test of golf all year round. Six holes of the old course have been reconstructed in recent years and has led to very favourable comments from members and regular visitors alike. The Rosslare golf links and the resort have a notable tendency to attract golfers who return time and time again. The alchemy of excellent hotels, seaside atmosphere and a superb golf links would seem to be the ingredients of the special magic that is Rosslare. | Rosslare provides an excellent test of golf on a championship links beside the Irish sea. Fairways, tees and greens are watered, giving an enjoyable playable surface in both summer and winter. Deane Beman (U.S.G.A. Commissioner) after his round in Rosslare stated that 'The wind on this links makes it a great test of golfing skill'. The Old Course at Rosslare is superb. Simply the best. Forget Mount Juliet and The K Club, this is a real golf test. The wind and natural contours of the course make it a truly enjoyable game of golf. The best course I have ever played.

Played the new 9 hole course on a windy day in June and found it testing in places. Interesting tee shots on 6 7 over thick gorse and off 1 over water. Hole details 1. 381yds par 4 2. 177 3 3. 360 4 4. 396 4 5. 360 4 6. 140 3 7. 414 4 8. 540 5 9. 385 4 Total 3153 yards Par 35

The 'Old Course' is a hidden gem that should not be missed if you are travelling in the Southeast corner of Ireland. It is the perfect course to visit before tackling the more famous links courses on the West Coast. Many greens are situated in depressions making club selection difficult. I played the course on a relatively calm day and still found it challenging. The club secretary was extremely accomodating and he even allowed me to tee off prior to the women on ladies day.
