Course Details

Course Name: Rothes Holes: 9 Yardage: 4972 SSS: 65
This is a fairly short nine hole course has magnificent views over the Spey Valley and the river can be seen from most part of the course. There are few complications but most of the greens are fairly small and accuracy is required the holes are named after the local businesses who helped towards the cost of laying put the course. It is a hilly but not too steep course, surrounded by woodland and the trees are beginning to mature. The 'front' five holes are on fairly heavy soil while the 'back' four are on lighter, more sandy ground. the above yardage and scratch are when the course is played as an 18 hole.

As a new season begins and the sun shines we look forward to our golf including our weekly competitions. The course is in great shape and the changes made by our greenkeeper over the winter months will set us all new challenges. The course is well worth a visit even just to play 9 holes and to enjoy the magnificent views.

Rothes is a magic course for any status of player; beginner or pro. With steep mounts and a variety of lengths of hole it proves to be a real test. I would recommend it to anyone. P.S. Irene's cooking is definitely to be tried; it makes the whole event very worth while.

Rothes Golf Club is one of the most challenging courses in the area. It has a great atmospherer and the locals make you feel very welcome. It is definately a family course and challenging for all the family and as a regular player I find that it gets better every time I play it.
