The SCHLOSS Roxburghe Golf Course was owned by the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe and is 3 miles from Kelso in the Scottish Borders. Besides golf there is tennis, croquet, shooting, fishing and falconry.

The Duke of Roxburghe's residence Floors Castle is adjacent to the club and open to the public. It is the largest inhabited castle in Scotland and made famous by its appearance in the Tarzan film 'Greystokes'.
Club name previously the Sunlaws House Hotel and The Roxburghe Golf Course.

Opened in 1997 and designed by ex-Ryder Cup player, Dave Thomas, The Roxburghe is a rolling parkland course, featuring delicate par 3s over water, old fashioned blind tee shots, doglegs left and right and seductive par 5s. This course just gets better and better
What a fantastic experience
We spoke to the Course Manager, Bob who has got to be one of the most interesting people in his business given his experience on some of the best courses in Scotland.

I know these reviews are always subjective, but having played numerous inland courses, including some well known ones such as the Belfry and The Forest of Arden, this is the best I have played by a mile. A couple of blind tee shots which I thought was interesting for a relatively new course, although nothing compared to RCD. Lots of well placed and deep bunkers, beautiful fairways, great staff and some lovely views (14th obviously). Green fee for March was £40, which is great value for money.

Magnificent course, especially considering it's young age (est. 1996) we played the course twice with a group of ten and found not only the course to be brilliant, but also the hospitable service from the prosho, we were told by locals that there is no comparable course in the general area. Kudos to the Roxburghe

Absolutely magnificent, beautiful, tranquil, tartan effect fairways, immaculate greens, scenery, challenging and a wonderful hotel and restaurant-as you can guess I loved it, but so did everyone who played it. I loved it even more than St.Andrews, but the bad thing is after telling my wife about it she wants us to go and stay for a long weekend and try the fishing, tennis, pheasant shooting, clay pigeon, spa, fitness centre, saunas, which will cost me an arm and a leg.
Even if you're not into Golf it is an inspiring place to visit with so much to do and see.

Excellent golf course with superb course facilities. A long course made longer by the fact we were allowed to play from the Medal Tee's. Take a cart if your playing two rounds in a day!
