As a member, I'm sure my opinion is slightly influenced, but I would encourage all readers to come and play this challenging course. Fairway watering was installed on both courses last year and has improved play dramatically. Those who remember the bare fairways and 'browns' of years gone by will be in for a major treat. Bring the full set of clubs, as every one will be used. If you can play to your handicap you have played particularly well.
It is hard to pick out a signature hole, but you will remember all the long par 4s, which each present there own challenges. Awaiting you on the 18th tee is the welcome sight of the Pagoda in Kew Gardens to aim your last drive at.
I'm sure you'll remember Royal Mid-Surrey for the trees and flowers, the wonderful photographic collection in the clubhouse, and above all, a fair but difficult day amongst the famous mounds.
The club is only 6 miles from Heathrow and 8 miles from Central London.
