Having today played Sandhill Golf Course for the first time since 1999 I was very pleasantly surprised at all the work that has been carried out. With new Tee boxes and lots more trees. The 17th has had three fairway bunkers inserted, just in the right place to catch you out (one of them caught me). Having just set up a society in our local pub, I am certainly going to recommend that we have a day there in the near future.

Sandhill is an enjoyable cause to play, although some of the greens leave something to be desired. The trees are not yet fully grown, but when they have the course will reached its full potential and be a challenging course for the average golfer. The only one niggle I have with this course is that people are not replacing their pitch marks.

Although fairly new, Sandhill is maturing into a very enjoyable, easy walking golf course. The greens are fantastic, particularly as they are extremely undulating and therefore, challenging. Look out for the bunker and the horseshoe green on the short par 4 4th and the excellent par 5 18th, a fantastic finishing hole that is downhill with a dogleg to the left and great views on all sides. Presently, the only downside is the poor tees (apart from the 1st) and the openness of the course but this won't be for long as plenty of healthy looking trees are planted.

Sandhill Golf Course has a new fist tee (the millennium tee) out side the clubhouse making your fist shot tough. The course is well maintained, with good greens. Watch-out for the bunker guarding the 4th, and the testing 7th.the last 3 holes pay easy and the 19th is very friendly
