I plan to start my training to become an aspiring young golfer on this particular Golf Course. I have been well informed by my keen golfing friends, and peers that it shall be a very fitting course for my training. I hope i will become as good a golfer as my hero's Colin McQ, Colin Montgomery and Steven Alexander.
    Good evening.

This is a fabulous course which should be played by all!! Get Down there and play! The 4th hole offers a great challenge which is one of the hardest par-4's u'll ever play. The 11th, 3rd and 16th are also very challenging golf holes which take skill and technique to get your way round in par on. Bye me a member at shotts GC

I first played Shotts as a raw 10 year old and enjoyed it immensely although I lost numerous balls at the wonderful 4th hole. This course taught me how to play safe and I am now playing off scratch. I would rate this course amongst the top 5 in Scotland. My friend John Albert Henderson as a 15 year old managed to chip in at devils elbow for a birdie and he still plays Shotts every few weeks and tells me its playing superbly now that the drainage problem is sorted.

My name is Gibson Murray and I now live in Chicago, USA. I have been a member of Shotts Golf Club since I was a boy of 10 years in 1970 until I moved to the US in 1996. Shotts has one of the best holes in golf in my opinion, the 4th hole. It is a wonderful test of golf especially on a windy day, of which there are many on this course. You can never take the weather for granted at Shotts, you can get all four seasons in one day. I remember one evening in September, standing on the 15th tee waiting to drive off, I bent over to tie my shoe lace and when I stood up again, the whole course with white with an unexpected hail shower. That is how quickly the weather can affect your game here. with reasonable daily rates, Shotts is a great test of golf for players of all levels. I miss the course very much.
