Very interesting old course in Totteridge. No flat or dull holes. Set in delightful heathland and surrounded by mature trees. Variety of doglegs, uphill and downhill holes. Particularly memorable holes were:
1st, downhill driveable par 4 of 293 yards surrounded by bunkers 2nd, uphill tight short par 4 through a narrow chute with out of bounds behind green 5th, attractive tee shot from elevated tee on par 5 dogleg right 7th, tough long par 4, slightly uphill, 434 yards.9th, steeply downhill par 5 with semi-blind tee shot
14th, short par 3 surrounded by bunkers with semi-blind green 16th, 90 degree dogleg left short par 4 18th, uphill dogleg right 301 yards In beautiful condition when we played. Not a long course off yellow tees: all par 5's reachable and a couple of par 4's for long hitters, but reasonably tight and some greens fairly tricky. If your driving's on form could be low score. Altogether a great experience and great value on a weekday, although handicap certificate is required. Most attractive course I've seen around Hertfordshire.

I have played South Herts a few times and watch the Open qualifying a few times as well. It is excellent in every way, the course, condition - clubhouse. Change nothing it is so good.
