I have played at Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club on numerous occasions. Each time I have played I found the course to be extremely challenging but most enjoyable.
I particularly enjoy the 7th, 8th, 16th and the 18th as all these holes require a good judgement of distance and pinpoint accuracy in order to make par or birdie.
I myself play off a handicap of 14 and each time I have played I have played to well within my handicap.
This excellent course is complemented by a brilliant clubhouse, which has excellent changing facilities and a warm, welcoming, atmospheric lounge, which holds a vast amount of memorabilia.

An exciting and daunting prospect for any golfer, the course plays both gently and (when the wind blows) viciously. Several blind tee shots and the infamous gorse bushes make it necessary to have more than one spare ball in your bag. The clubhouse and changing facilities are superb and the walls of the bar filled with memorabilia from past years providing the visitor with a strong sense of the history of the club.
