Flagship Training wish to hold a "Golf Day" in September of this year (2004).
Could you quote me a firm price for 27 holes with a mixed Grill style lunch or Burgher and chips etc.
Please advise which dates are available for up to 30 players in September.
    Many thanks
    Dik Manning

A decent course, especially during the summer. The course is situate within grounds of MOD property but the public can use the course anytime. Current green fees for visitors is around £17 (£14 if accompanied by a member or serving member of the Armed Forces)
A fairly short course with one or two challenging holes for the 16+ handicapper. Not a great deal of water around, although holes 4 and 9 require your second shot to be hit over a small stream should you decide to attack the green. There is also a small pond guarding the 6th, but this can be easily driven over. There are several gullies strewn around which can be reached by an average drive. In particular the 10th. No real long holes on the course, the longest being the 11th (428 off the yellow tees). Can be reached in 2, except when driving into the wind.
Plenty of trees around the course although these do not make the fairways narrow. Greens are fairly small and well placed pins sometimes make it difficult to attack the green
All in all, a good course for the high end handicapper, but I don't think it is really much of a challenge for the lower handicap golfers out there.
A good clubhouse with very cheap priced food and beer or coffee if driving! Beware of fishermen and joggers during the summer. Ample car parking available with a small driving range and pitch and putt also available as part of the green fee. The pro shop is fairly small and under some re-development at the moment (April 02)

Though this is a short course it is by no means the easiest with narrow fairways and sometimes tiny greens. plenty of out of bounds, mainly to the left, can be testing too. all around not a real test for the low handicap player but plenty to think about for 14+.
