This now a full 18 hole course Par 69.
It begins with a very testing par 4 where accuracy and courage are needed to make par.
The course then meanders through some lovely countryside with a mixture of straightforward and difficult holes.
The course is kept in very good condition with some very attractive features,
The owners are very welcoming and the player can leave feeling satisfied and challenged.

The soon to be completed clubhouse extension and extra nine holes along with the recently completed driving range will add to the reputation of this excellent course. I've been playing for about 2 years and the welcome at St Andrews Major is warm for players of all abilities.
Two straightforward par threes lead you the lovely par 5 third, a dogleg right which demands an accurate tee shot and a good second to make a good score. The 4th is a short straight par 4 but the 5th is scary if like me you tend to slice now and again. Your tee shot must be spot on to have a chance of reaching the green of this right dogleg in two. If you do happen to slice your tee shot you'll be in the farmyard which adjoins the course.
The 6th is a 178 yard par 3 usually into the wind while the 7th and 8th are short par 4s with a water filled ditch waiting for any stray tee shots on the 8th. The 9th has a wide fairway but fairly thick rough if you miss the short stuff and again is a fairly short par 4. The greens are in good condition as I write (May 2001) but the course can get very boggy in winter. For a no handicapper like me it's a nice course and will be even better once the extension is complete.

I am a regular player at St Andrews Golf course in South Wales.
I would like to show my appreciation of the course as it is an excellent beginners course whilst at the same time providing some tricky holes for the more advanced players. The holes are kept in good condition and the greens are especially nicely kept.
It is soon to have an 9-hole extension in the summer of 2001, which will extend it to 18 holes. If these holes are of the same quality as the first 9 this will be excellent.
