We (my wife and I) had the opportunity to play St Annes Old in July '00. It was the first course we played during our visit to the UK and turned out to be a great lead-in as it was enjoyable but not too tough (even for my wife). The 9th and 18th holes seemed to be especially interesting. The condition of the course was good and the staff and
members were pleasant. Would recommend it if you have time but don't give up Royal Lytham.

Don't bother with Royal Lytham ..... play the Old Links instead.

When the fan is blowing on this course it can change a par 3 150 from an 8 or 9 iron to well hit 3 wood!!! plays like a great links course should do, very friendly club house members and pro shop assistance made us feel very welcome. A MUST when visiting the north west of England.
