For many years I was a member at Stanton-on-the-Wolds Golf Club. I can strongly recommend it to anyone; features include:
a/ A fine course, always in good condition, with plenty of contrast between holes, excellent greens and fine views
b/ A friendly welcome; you could often arrive alone and receive an invitation to play in a group.
c/ Good, regular, social events
d/ A well-regarded restaurant service.
e/ Sensible green fees.
For many years, the well-known cricket commentators Richie Benaud, Tony Lewis and Jack Bannister used to play a round at about 6 a.m. before going on to commentate in the Tests at Trent Bridge.
I strongly recommend you to visit the club!
