Stoke Park was established in 1795, and Stoke Poges Golf Club (as it was formerly known) was founded in 1908. The first ever PGA Tournament was played at Stoke Park in 1910, and since then Stoke Park has established and maintained a reputation as one of the finest parkland courses in the World.
Interesting Trivia: The most famous golf game in film history was filmed at Stoke Park in 1964 when James Bond defeated Goldfinger and Oddjob decapitated a statue!

In 1996, the golf club was awarded Golf Club of the Year, chosen from 2,200 clubs in the British Isles, by the largest selling golf book, 'Following the Fairways'.
