Stoneyholme is like the dark horse of all golf courses, alot of people underestimate stoney holme and when they go on they get a flogging and a surprise! The course is not long but not short and it is a very tricky course.Tight fairways and trees on every fairway. lovely par threes and i would recommend it to well anyone!

I doubt if you this country has a greater municipal course. The course is not the longest but it ain't the shortest either with a variety of challenging holes thrown into the bargain. There are not many courses in this country can boast at having such a challenging opening whole - a 360 yard dog leg par four situated tight to the local river, very well bunkered and with a very difficult approach shot into a two tiered green. In fact eight of the first nine holes boast two or three tear greens.
It would be recommendable to make a visit during spring/summer as the course tends to suffer from the River Eden swelling in the winter months. Rates are very, very reasonable which proves excellent value for money. This was important because I played this course with one of my best pals and he is a South African (tight-fisted and all that) so it made sense all round.
