I am pleased to say that i am a junior member at the club. The staff are very lenient with juniors and treat them as adult members.
I am replying to notify any visiters wishing to play at the course, that since the last description was published the course has improved significantly. New matured trees have been planted, bunkers have been refurnished, and the clubhouse area has been decorated.
The staff and members are friendly and welcoming at the course and find it a pleasure when having to introduce new members and visitors.
The course is now more challenging, treelined and respectable. Test Valley is still a course for the future, once matured.

I have taken up Test Valley's 'Two Month Trial Membership' for May and June 2001 which to my mind is an extremely good offer. So far I have played the course four times and have found the course to be different on each occasion. The front 9 is quite testing and you have to be conservative on club selection on the 2nd , 7th and 8th holes as they all require a straight drive and with fairway bunkers that do come into play. The back 9, for me is somewhat non-descript, perhaps when the trees have matured it will become more interesting.
The best hole on the course, well, it has to be the 8th. Do you gamble a Driver which will afford you a wedge in if you miss the fairway bunkers or do you lay up and leave yourself with a longish iron over two mid size lakes onto a small green guarded by bunkers.
The practise facilities are a bit sparse but the course, I'm told is going through a transitional phase with the addition of better practise facilities. When they are finished, it will definitely enhance the reputation of the golf course.
