Thorney Park Golf Course is a challenging 9-hole course in the South Bucks. It tests the skill of high and low handicappers. Some of the holes are quite stunning, none more so that the Par 3 170yrd 7th which has a tough tee shot of around 135 yds over water onto a tight green, which has two bunkers guarding the front and a small brook along the back. It is a maturing course, which will soon have 9 more holes added to it, to make it an 18-hole course of some quality. The green fees are reasonably priced, and the staff at the pro shop and bar are very friendly. It certainly gets the thumbs up from me.

The 'Funny Fen' as the local hackers call it is indeed a golfers delight! The rolling countryside makes it a tough walk while the vast expanses of water make it a truly legend test of skill and nerve. However don't fear as you are guaranteed a good lie on the muddy fairways because leatherwedge isn't just common here it is practically compulsary! Avoiding the five-ball ahead who only have one bag of sticks between them means you should race round the course in under 7 hours. And to top if off locals say that on a clear day you can even see Gumby Fen from the 12th green, the highest point on the course standing just over 3 ft above sea level.
