Me and my cousion are both members at Tinsley and i think it is a challenageing course compared to Phoenix golf club. The setting at Tinsley is fantastic as it is set in mature woods. The 8th hole is one of the most challengeing and if you want to get on the fairway hit the ball over the woods on the left hand side. Well the 14th hole is arguably the best hole in South Yorkshire because of its approach. While i am a Junior member you get treated the same respect as older members. PLUS MY COUSION HAS QUALIFIED FOR THE FINAL OF THE SUNDAY MEDAL. AND I HAVE JUST QUALIFIED FOR THE OFFICAL BOGEY. OUR HANDICAPS ARE 1 AND 2 RESPECTIVELY. Thats all I have to say about that little matter.

I am quite new to the game and having been to a driving range with a more experienced mate we decided to start at Tinsley. I have to say that the staff are very friendly, the pro shop looks well stocked and the course was a pleasure to play, considering the amount of rain we receive in South Yorkshire the way the course is maintained is brilliant, a must for any newbie or experienced player.

This course is excellent. I am a member there. Greens, tees, and fairways all in supreme condition.

Recently having played Tinsley Park I was reminded of the terrific value for money South Yorkshire and Sheffield in particular gives. For a visitors fee of just good value. I was treated to as fine a municipal course, as you will find. The fairways are wide, the greens are well manicured and if your round is letting you down you can jet away from it all at Sheffield Airport. The runway is adjacent to the 10th fairway and adds to the spectacle. Perhaps for me the most memorable hole is the 8th, which is S.I.1 and has probably the widest fairway in golf, only you miss half of it until you have played at least once. (Take my word to the left of the trees is fairway as well) . All in all this course is well worth a visit.
