A very nice course ...WHEN DRY.There is little to no drainage and hence after a days rain one will find the course very mobile underfoot and ball plugging on fairways is an issue. green speeds seem to be inconsistent due to varying soil conditions.

You could Tee off using the wrong end of the club and still hit the fairway very wide and very nice to play, easy access to the locals can get busy in the good weather.

Towneley Golf Course is a friendly easy-going place to play. The fairways are generally wide and very green, and there are relatively few hazards (no water hazards). It is usually very easy to get a tee-time and is a gentle stroll round. Cheap and certainly cheerful, Towneley is well worth a look. Ben Brown - Hcp 17
