I used to play at Verulum quite often in the late 90's but found the members to be some of the most stuffy and annoying people I have ever experienced. Whilst playing happily be prepared for members to walk accross serveral fairways to check your membership tags or pre paid tickets - and be prepared for this to happen on many occassions during your round.
Aside from that its not a bad course, the first nine is fairly bland, the most exciting part of it is watching the activities that go on in the woods by the 7th - a nutorious dogging venue!!
The back nine is quite interesting with some nice holes. All in all my experiences was negative due to the members.

im a junior golfer and i have only just played a jnr open there very tricky course and home to mr ryder v v v hard course and lovely setting. but not to keen on the long walks from hole to hole
