This is a great little cheap 9-hole course for the beginner/high handicapper, the relaxed atmosphere ensures that even when busy you won't have impatient snob golfers snapping at your heels. The holes are relatively short in length and provide an excellent opportunity for hitting green in regulation without having to hit the ball a long distance. On the downside, the par 5 5th is a disappointment as its 550-yd length is disproportionate to the rest of the course with a tight 90-degree turn at 300 yds. Also, the condition of the course is hit and miss. It can be as good as you would expect of a municipal course but more often than not the rough is far too thick and when it is cut the dead grass provides an excellent cover for your ball to hide.

Time has moved on as have the Clubs' owners. I have played this course many time,s at all times of the day and in all conditions, so let me bring history 'up to date'. Yes, It is short, so it's a great course to learn and work on your game but, you can't take liberties. Its hazards; bunkers, burns, out of bounds and its natural flora and fauna catch all levels of players at some point. There are eight wide fairways and the "corridor" 6th and all nine holes are guarded with subtilely positioned holes, [the owner is an former Professional]. Rarely is this picturesque course closed and it offer wonderful views, nestled as it is within the famous Warwick Racecourse.
