Hole 9- Uphill par 4. Tee off from the grassed remains of the old railway viaduct (Again offers superb views of Whitby). Uphill drive to marker post is best approach. Beware straying right, bunker will give you no chance of
    making par.
Hole 10 - Straight forward par4. Hookers beware, the hole runs parallel to the A174 road, go left and your out of bounds.
Hole 11 - Stroke index 1 par 4. Cross the A174 on foot(carefully) then tee off Uphill dog leg right. Tough hole to make par. Long drive to brow of first hill, then make a decision to go for green or lay up short because of the deep lateral water hazard. Hitting the green in two is no mean feat.
Hole 12 - Long but straight forwards par 3.
Hole 13 - Long dog leg right par 4. If by now your hitting the ball well you should have no problems provided you don't slice to the right as your out of bounds into deep, deep gorse and bushes. (Lost Ball)
Hole 14 - Dog leg left par 4. OB on your left and right off the tee, so hit a careful draw with a Three Iron for the best approach.
Hole 15 - Par 3. Blind Green par 3. Reachable for a reasonable hitter with a three wood or iron. Tough sloping green making pin position key to getting your par.
Hole 16 - Long Par 5. Back across the ravine. This time from a lower position, so you must get your drive up. Big second shot essential if you are going to make any impression on par.
Hole 17 - Par 4. Back towards the ravine. Green guarded by several fiendish bunkers.
Hole 18 - Par 4. Back towards the club house, should give you a par to finish off your round with.
I hope this review helps you enjoy, as I thoroughly enjoy playing Whitby Golf Club. Many thanks to Finn for regularly inviting me to play the course with him. Maybe see you there.
Handicap (Not Official) Approx. 26 ish.
