A course to consider, particularly in the wet seasons when many other courses are waterlogged, Whitefields drains well so is able to remain open and playable without resorting to winter greens. The back nine affords some beautiful landscape views across Draycote Water followed by the appropriately named 16th hole 'Temptation'. The positioning of bunkers on several of the fairways increases the interest! On a few of the holes the pin is not visible from the tee, a practice which used to be quite common but appears not to so favoured in modern course design (therefore I suggest the purchase of a course planner before setting off for the first tee) . Even in the summer Whitefields never seems busy. I suspect this is not a reflection on the
course but more on the clubhouse/bar which is not the most congenial catering more for business conferences in the hotel rather than pay and play golfers.
