The course is really hilly, but magnificant. And we saw some seals on one of the beaches. Bis nachsten mahl

I played Wicklow Golf Club in August 2001. I must say that despite the strong gale, I enjoyed every second on the course. I can only give athe best advice I can give to the other golfers is to forget the expensive links of the region and play this course, they'll get the bet price/quality ratio. It is really a stunning golf course. In addition the people at the pro shop and in the club house make you feel at home.

I played Wicklow Golf Club late one afternoon in October 2003. My wife and I had just completed a drive from The Curragh over the mountains in the fog and rain. It was dry in town. We were staying at Kilmantin House, across the street from the famous jail. She stayed in town while I went to play. The pro was welcoming and sent me right out to the first tee. I love playing in Ireland, but that round will rank with any of them not only because of the beautiful course and the nice people, but because I birdied 18 for my first round ever under 80. Next time we're in Ireland, I'll be back. Loved the tee shot over the water on "Pebble Beach" and the par threes back up the ravines.

    Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
some years ago, in August 2000, me and my wife have had the great pleasure to have a round of Golf on your beautyful course.
Unfortunally the Pro-Shop has had no Logo-Ball of your Golfclub, but my intention is, to own a ball of every course i have played.
Is it possible, to send me one (or three) if i send u the money you need for the ball and shipping-costs?
I hope, you can fullfill it.
    Kindest regards
    and
mit freundlichem Gruß aus Münster in old Germany

Here's a little different view of Wicklow Golf Club. I was touring Ireland in June of 2000, when I accidentally came across the golf club, in a beautiful setting, along the Irish Sea, just outside of town. It was getting towards dinnertime so I stopped in and inquired if I might enjoy dinner in the clubhouse. I was not prepared for the wonderful dinner I was about to order, or the GREAT hospitality I would receive from the local members. After a few Guinness, the delicious pork pie and some FUN golf conversation, it was time to go on to Britta's Bay. I left Wicklow without playing the golf course, but I got something better.... New friends and several good laughs! As I was leaving, I gave each of my new friends a Callaway Red Golf Ball; they treated it like gold!! I hope to return to Wicklow someday and play your stunning golf course!! Thanks for the memories.

A colleague and I played Wicklow on Monday last, 30 April. The sun shone and the course was in magnificent condition even after a good deal of rain overnight. The gorse was in full flower and everything looked so perfect for golf. The whole eighteen holes are superb, all different and providing a nice challenge. As we have come to expect in Ireland, the professional, clubhouse staff and members were most friendly and helpful. So many holes can been seen from the clubhouse that our wives, who stayed in and around the club house with binoculars, gave us a report of how they felt we had played most of them. I wish we had arrived earlier and managed 36 holes, but we will be back.

We last played Wicklow seven years ago when it was 9 holes and this past July we had the delight of playing the full 18 for the first time. Few courses in our area, Toronto, Canada, that we can afford to play on a regular basis, can match Wicklow for the test of golf, and none can match the scenery, not even the expensive courses! The integration of the original nine and the addition is seamless. As we have family in the area, we will play Wicklow on every visit. We thank the Club for the enjoyment we had. See you again in a few years!

My wife and I have only played Wicklow once, and that was seven years ago when it was still nine holes. Few of the courses we play here in Ontario, Canada can match Wicklow for total enjoyment. From scenery, especially those holes which hug the cliffs, to condition and the necessity of keeping the ball straight, it was a memorable experience; even with the mist we played through! We plan to play it again in '99, and look forward to playing the 'new' Wicklow.

Wickow Golf course, recently extended from a nine-hole to an 18-hole course, offers beautiful views of the sea and the Dublin mountains ahead. A small beach and lake divides the course and this makes the round much more interesting! The condition of the course is excellent and the facilities are reasonable. The course is located within walking distance (10 mins) from the centre of Wicklow Town or a further walk (20 minutes) south along the coast to Silver Strand beaches.
