Whilst the Golf Club itself was only founded in 1922, the clubhouse and grounds are steeped in history. The present Woodsome Hall has evolved over many centuries and is mainly the work of Arthur Kaye, who in 1517 married Beatrix and took his bride to the new Woodsome Hall. Earlier recorded owners / dwellers do however go back to 1086 A.D.

Only played there once and now a member,the first tee says it all.A great down hill par 4 and a nice guarded green getting you ready for the next exciting 17 holes.Fantasic views on the back nine and a very friendly club in all aspects.Recommend it to all handicapers and pros.

From the first tee you know this place is something special. It has the lot for me a great shot making course the ninth a par 5 is stunning and the views from the back nine are superb. The clubhouse and surrounding buildings are beautiful. A very friendly club.

Woodsome Hall is something of a hidden gem in West Yorkshire. Nestled on the side of a hill, and a mixture of open hillside and wooded holes, the course winds itself round and steeply up the West Yorkshire landscape.
Woodsome is not particularly long, but is tight and challenging, varying from the long par 4 8th, that requires a good drive and wood to reach the green, to the short 13th, hidden in heavy woodland with no margin for error.
Woodsome is only lightly played, and as a result is in magnificent condition all year round. The greens and tees are superb and are being constantly tended and upgraded.
Coupled with the natural beauty of the area, this is a real golfing experience, especially in May when the rhododendrons are out, and woods full of bluebells.
At the end of the round you can relax in the 12th century clubhouse and genuinely feel that you have left the modern world behind, at least for an afternoon.
