just got back from playing this great course. Each hole is different and testing in an individual way. utilising all the clubs in the bag. I'd hate to play it in a strong wind as the majority of the holes are in the wide open atop a hill. The only disapointment was the amount of stones in the bunkers. Put some proper sand in them and this course could easily rival its near neighbour across the M40.
Hope they keep the good standards up. I look forward to playing again here soon.

Wycombe Heights is a challenging course. You may need oxygen for the first three holes, which provide something of an uphill climb.
The par 4 7th hole (Bunker Alley) requires a long accurate tee shot, and even the longest of drives still leaves a mid-long iron to reach the green in two. Over the years it still remains the only hole I have not parred!
The 11th (Dingly Dell) is my favourite hole on the course. On a good day the green is driveable, although a pot bunker is waiting to gobble you up), but a wayward shot to the left could end up in the vineyard which stands on the hillside beyond the hedge. My advice – place a six or seven iron down in the dell – you will have half a wedge to find the 'cut and prepared'.
The 18th is the most tempting tee shot. Downhill all the way. In the summer this hole is driveable (I have done it two or three times) but beware the “invisible bunkers” – two you can see from the tee, but two you can’t.
Pay a visit to Wycombe Heights – it’s well worth the green fee!

Probably one of the best and most challenging public pay and play courses you'll encounter. Not a course that is easily mastered and one which truly tests you every time you play it - the wind is never in the same direction 2 days in a row.
Admittedly the greens are slow and are still not the best in the world (and probably never will be) but they're improving all the time.
The fairways are good and the layout keeps you interested all the way round from the intimidating par 4 first, with its out of bounds on the left and woods on the right demanding a good shot right at the start of the round (watch those players who have been bitten before reaching for their 5 iron) right through to the par 4 eighteenth with it's 'down the hill' view of the green from the tee but with the ability to ruin the round of the unwary golfer who's started thinking about the bar four (or maybe even seven ?) shots too early !!
Other holes to note - the par 4 sixth with it's out of bounds on the left so close and intimidating that it makes golfers who have never hooked in their lives aim at the adjacent fairway on the right; the par 3, 8th, so easy standing on the tee but when the wind is blowing at this highest point on the course be grateful for a 4; the picturesque, shortish par 4 eleventh with it's choice of options from the tee.
And any visitor should prepare themselves and look forward to the courses combination signature holes - the par 4 fifteenth and the par 3 sixteenth. The former is a medal card wrecker with a narrow fairway and trouble on the left and the right and an even narrower entrance to the green so don't relax until you're on that dance floor. The latter is a beauty from an elevated tee with woodland on the left - play it every day for a week and you'll be playing a different club from the tee almost every time. Try it - you'll like it !!!

As a beginner and resident in the High Wycombe Area I can thoroughly recommend the par 3 18 hole course for any like minded people who try to take up this insufferbale sport. The course is challenging and takes a good couple of hours to trudge around. Other users are courteous and patient of beginners which is quite refreshing considering it is a public course. Perhaps the only grumble is that the 'short' holes outweight the long. Recently a 12 year old lad went round in 55! If that is not a challenge then I don't know what is!!

A good challenge for all levels but if you are wayward off the tee you will experience punishing rough. In particular leave your hook at home as the opening and closing holes are cut into a hillside (the course is a tough walk). The greens tend to let the course down especially in summer, when I have found them crusty and inclined to bobble. An excellent clubhouse with good food and a nice bar and patio area (which unfortunately overlooks the car park rather than the course). The driving range is also cut into the hillside, and seems like a bit on an afterthought. All in all good value for money though.

This course just continues to improve and must now be one of the best public facilities in the country. Reasonable prices - and that includes the bar which was very welcoming with food portions that were huge! The course presentation was as good as any private course in the area though the greens were slow in comparison to other courses.

Although not always in the very best condition, a challenging and varied course. Greens can be inconsistent and fairways hard, but lots of fun to be had here, but also note this can be a pretty stiff walk. Reasonable green fees, nice clubhouse, and an 18 hole par 3 course if you have the energy in the afternoon.
