I had the good fortune to play Wyre Forest Golf course in June of this year. The course was a lot more challenging than you would think by looking at it and reading some of the reviews. The long rough was a good thing to stay out of. The first few holes were a nice warm up, wide fairways etc, but after the 4th hole the course really starts to show you its stuff! Beautiful view of the countryside, some very challenging holes that are not all that simple and require good shot making. The greens need some work but it only adds to the character of the course. The Clubhouse staff and Pro shop staff are wonderful, helpful and the food is great! For the money you can't go wrong! Coming from Canada I also appreciated the reasonable price of playing the course.

Generally a good course to play. I found that the faiways were very generous in their width, perhaps too generous on some holes. The course played to it's length and on one or two holes the dead ground was certainly deceptive. The way the course is laid out call for a fair amount of walking and it is certainly a hilly course! My main criticism of the course is the condition of the greens. They are incredibly slow and seem to be in need of a lot of work, however it is a course that I would play again.

A colleague took me to the Wyre Forest for a round after claiming it was well drained and ideal for winter golf. On a wet day in December, with no temporary greens or tees, we still managed to enjoy the day. If you are looking for a top notch, testing course with lush fairways and superb greens, this is not the course for you. On the other hand if you are looking for value for money, all year round golf, then I would thoroughly recommend this course.
Staff are super friendly and food is excellent in a small but reasonably well-appointed clubhouse.

This is possibly the friendliest course I've played at and definitely the best value for money. Golf is available all year round with both tees and greens being open. The course is very exposed making club selection very difficult in the wind and making some par 4's out of reach in 2 even for the longer hitter. On the other hand when the wind is not so severe you can really attack the course with wide fairways and big greens but watch out for bunkers all over the place. 6 par 3's make the yardage look short but there's some cracking par 4's to make you think its longer. In a word - excellent!

I have played this course about ten times, and each time I vow never to go back. The fairways are atrocious, but still not as bad as the greens, which are like concrete. Wyre Forest claims to play 365 days a year whatever the weather. But it can only do this by having a course that resembles a rock face.
If you are a high handicapper then bring along your low scoring friends as this course will bring everyone down to the same level. Ridiculously wide fairways, boring holes make this by far the worst course that I have ever played.

I took golf up 6 months ago, I am a high handicap player, in that time I have played a lot of golf, a lot of it a this excellent club. I can honestly say that this club is friendly, relaxed and the best place to spend a morning or afternoon playing the great game. The course as wide greens which is helpful for the beginner and can lull the experienced player into a false sense of security if you are not. The club house provides welcome relive from the rigours of 18 holes and the food is first rate and very very good value for money. The place is so good that I became a member and recommend this club to anyone who asks where to get a good games of golf locally and a good day off.

Some colleagues and I had a day out here. The course was well presented and the fairways were wide enough to permit a high handicapper like me (26) to have a real crack. A couple of really neat holes, and for a short course, a long'un that seemed to go on forever. Very friendly and hospitable, the grub was excellent value too.
