York's oldest golf club, founded in 1890, moved to Strensall in 1904 where the course was designed by J.H.Taylor.The fairways of the 6301 yard course are tree lined but the flat course retains its natural heathland and heather heritage. It provides plenty of variety and challenge to test the high and low handicapper alike. The club hosts many County and York Union events and stages one of Yorkshires premier 36 hole amateur competitions The York Rose Bowl.
The York Golf Club is situated 3 miles north of York off the A1237 ring road and is easily accesible. It offers excellent playing facilities, as well as 'all in golf and catering packages'.
The club has a resident professional who would be delighted to give you any last minute swing tips! and a well equipped pro shop.
The club plays host to around 7000 visitors a year ( a testamentto its popularity) and our facilties are enjoyed by many societies and corporate parties. Whatever the size of your party you will enjoy friendly and efficent service with traditional Yorkshire value for money.
