Haut-Poitou golf course is of excellent quality and is fun to play with many unique and distinguishing characteristics.
The course offers a challenge to even the most practiced and competent of players. Tee shots from elevation, ever encroaching water danger and visually stunning par threes, make for a thrilling day out on the links. The 5 par fives in particular offer a terrific test of nerve and courage tempting the player to pull off a memorable shot or two. The 17th hole may only be 350yards as the crow flies but a 90degree turn around a lake ensures that only the daring make the green in less than 3 strokes. There exists also a pleasant 9hole course for those new to golf or those less energetic or inclined toward heroism.
The course facilities are magnificently groomed year-round. Its greens are fast and undulating at times. Afterwards, the club house is very welcoming, serves first class food, and has a wonderful view out over the course and St. Cyr Park Lake.
Green fees are currently priced at 25euros and it is never overly busy. The course is definitely a gem to discover.
