  • The only Links course in Belgium

During last winter the course of the ROGC has been modified and adapted to the way the course is played now. On 10 holes the fairways and the bunkers have been changed and the greens of the 15th and 18th hole are completely new, and more difficult to read. We have cut the bushes between the first holes to recreate it's typical links caracter and we will let the natural rough push again, which will make our course even more difficult. But a good stroken ball is always rewarded. We are ever trying to keep our course in Championship Condition and this since more than a Century. You can find more details on the clubs site : www.golfoostende.be
Best Regards from the Royal Ostend,

How interesting. I love links golf and will visit your website.
I specialise in playing with hickory shafted clubs and have a particular interest in one of the early, lesser known golf course architects, John Duncan Dunn. It is known he worked in your area but not exactly where.
        Best regards,
        Chris

Royal golf club - built by king Leopold II (though I don't see him made is hands dirty).
Old course so distances are short. nevertheless hard to play as this is a seaside links course wind is always in play. Watch out for hole six - par 3. tee off from top of a dune straight off into the sea direction. In afternoon wind always ahead. Short something like 130 m hole but club can vary from 9iron up to one of your woods. Watch out for hole 8 also. Tee off from highest top of dunes straight down (short par 3) excellent view.
Fairwaybunkers always in play and knee high rough make it difficult to set good score.

As a member of the ROGC, I would like to give you the exact name of our club.
Royal Ostend Golf Club (and not Oostend)
        Best Regards,
