The best value for money you will find anywhere, easy to get a good score if on your game but beware the fast greens and odd little sting to catch the overconfident!! Built on old flax fields, not many level lies!!
Very friendly and has a best shop in area for good value.

For some of us smaller hitters, a good 3or 4 iron will easily set-you up for a chip to the green and you are still within reach of claiming a par 4. The greens on this course are very forgiving only if you read them properly. Whatever time of the year you play this course it's superb, set in a tranquil location - you can have as peaceful a time as you want.
If in competitive play, you are having a bad day, this (like any course) is not where you want to be. On the other hand, if you are on your game and playing well, this course will offer many low scoring opportunities.
Other picturesque holes include the par 3, 5th, par 4, 7th, and par 4, 12th. All in all it makes for a great day's golf and the best thing of all is that everyone is really friendly.
The Professional staff are very helpful, booking your ballots, and serving in the shop. A day-trip is recommended to any new visitor to this course, as the catering staff in the Clubhouse is second-to-none! Happy golfing!

Well it always fills me full of aspirations of playing the likes of Augusta or the Olympic course when I stand on the first tee at Forfar. At times a wind ravaged course which would not be out of place as a links venue at the coast or a sun drenched pleasure land for an avid golfer. Whether you are an average player on a mid to high handicap or you have fine tuned you skills to be a very proficient player you will find the undulations at Forfar a match for your knowledge of the game.
Outstanding holes include the 4th, which requires an accurate tee shot to be able to launch a high spinning 2nd shot to stick to the small and neat green set above the rest of the hole. The 9th hole lies along side a burn (oh no you may say more water) and the 15th a lovely dog leg right to left with a green which falls away steeply to the left.
Throughout the area of Angus you will not find such a challenging but rewarding course which is not overly long but will give you some special shots and a lot of laughs.

Six of us have played this excellent course during our annual golfing trip, the end of May, for 9 consecutive years, and it is amongst the first we book. Having played almost every course within a 30 mile radius we are more than spoilt for choice, but what makes Forfar so special? Well for a start, as it seems with every club in Scotland, you are warmly welcomed. The professional staff are more than helpful (even when you are a little late in arriving and have missed your tee time)and their friendly attitude towards visitors and fellow golfers alike. The course is a beautifully manicured work of art which undulates between trees and valleys and no 2 holes are the same. The greens are as good as you will find anywhere and as long as you can putt, they run superbly true. Even at the end of 36 holes you wish there was 1 more to play,(unless you are having a mare of course)but when you have to wait as we do until the following year, you cannot help but feel sad that it is over. However the warmth that greets you in the clubhouse is one that soothes the aching heart.
