Best Golf trip of all time, super course
the views are amazing. Weather not to kind to us but had a wonderful time just the same. Really appreciated the warm welcoming hospitality of the Browns
at the charming Old Cable House Bed and Breakfast where we stayed, be sure to dine there the Seafood some of the best we ever had well worth the trip.

We played the wonderful Links at Waterville in late September of '99. After a lengthy jaunt of some 45 miles from Killarney over the N70 (Ring of Kerry) Road, we arrived with fierce winds and rain blowing in off of the Atlantic Ocean.
Magically, ten minutes from our scheduled tee off, the sun came out, the breeze subsided, and we spent the next four hours in what can only be described as golf heaven. There is a flow and continuity to this course unlike many of the other outstanding links of the south-west.
Many of the holes are unforgettable...the long par-4 second, with its green framed by tropical vegetation; the fabulous dogleg third, a challenging two-shotter with the ocean all along the right side; the world renowned par-5 11th, framed by massive dunes; the famous par-3 twelfth 'Mass Hole' at which your tee ball must traverse a valley where Catholics gathered to celebrate their faith in the times of religious persecution. The clubhouse is perhaps the finest in all of Ireland, bedecked with numerous items of golf memorabilia, including what has to be one of the world's largest logo ball collection! The pro shop is small, but very well-appointed and sporting a fine collection of clothing.
The 60 punt greens fee may seem a bit steep by Irish standards, but the quality of the design and the impeccable conditioning of this magnificent course make it one of the great bargains in all of golf.

The Waterville course is a great experience. A tough and long played course in great shape. The fairways and greens are splendid, and the rough outside the narrow fairways is just like hay!
I personally liked the ninth hole the best, especially because of the very hard approach to the green. I am sure a lot of clubhouse guests have seen a lot of players in a lot of trouble around that green.
The 10th hole, my brothers favourite hole, is a long winding par four where you will need a perfect drive, and yet you will have a pretty long approach to the green. Tiger Woods and Mark O´Meara visited this course in 1998 during preparations for the 1998 Brittish Open.
Play this course, you won´t regrett it!
