| Almerimar Golf course was designed by Professional Gary Player. The course has wide tree lined fairways, and large greens, which are well maintained and fast to play on. There are water features at five of the holes. The 100 metre over the lake shot to reach the 12th hole makes it the most challenging hole on the course. Don't hold your breath for four hours on a quality course which this isn't. Perhaps in fairness, golfing here in January one shouldn't expect much as the fairways are burnt, the tee boxes are in deplorable condition and what's sad is that garbage is littered everywhere on the peripnery of the course. In fact, although workers are apparent on the course doing tree planting, etc. they seem not at all interested in the type of maintenance one would expect a good course to have.
No ball washers on the first nine,no drinking water, confusing directional signs, poor sand bunkers among other annoyances make for an unpleasant experience.

We have been to Almerimar in May and October on a number of occasions.Very welcome always,good holiday with all facilities close.Several challenging holes particularly 11 and 12 with water.
