Course Details

Course Name: Ballinrobe Holes: 18 Yardage: 7,300 SSS: 73
This inland golf course, which opened in spring 1995, is characterised by lakes at 7 of the 18 holes, laid out to championship standard. It is set in medieval surroundings, with a 13th century tower house next to the 10th tee box. The greens of the course are 90% sand based and the club house is a fully restored 250 year old estate house. The course, with its scenic parkland area, is one which will offer a challenge to any golfer with its mature trees, man made lakes, elaborate fairways and traditional stone walls.

Cannot believe that I haven't heard more about this course!!
Quality greens aswell as well maintained fairways and tee boxes makes the course very pleasing to play on.
Par 3's are particularly strong and with plenty of water hazards and mature trees to contend with i can't rate this highly enough as a true test of golf.
    Well done Ballinrobe

Excellent course. Beware easy start. Valley of death at holes 7 and 8. Greens very good.

Played Sept 18th 2001..Loved the open well tended fairways and fine layout of greens - all of which were in pristine condition. The Course with its Castle ruins and Ancient Farm buildings has the historic feel of a bygone age somehow generated a feeling of privileged golf. Nevertheless, its a place to test the best. You'll love it.
