Nick Faldo has played the course and has vowed to return and Fred Daly describe it as 'a hidden jewel'. Other accolades have come from the Heineken Book of Golf which enthused 'a true links and a true test of golf against a background of spectacular scenery,' and described the course as the 'Royal Dornock of Ireland'. The recent addition of another 18 holes has made Ballyliffin a most attractive venue for a golf package.

I played both the Old Course and Glashedy in September 2001 and it was one of the most satisfying golf experiences I've had--and not because of my good play. Both courses are stunningly beautiful and full of challenge. At times it's difficult to concentrate due to the beautiful scenery. The wind is constant--bring your low ball some warm clothes! The courses are very different and one could spend many days here alternating courses and never get bored. Both courses are great links tests of golf and I cannot wait to return. The clubhouse is friendly and has good food, and after 18 holes of battling the wind, you'll be ready for a few pints.

I visited Ballyliffin in September of 2000.I had the opportunity to play both courses. The Old Course and Glashedy Links. Both were wonderful links golf courses. The town of Ballyliffin revolves around the golf courses. There are a few nice hotels and guesthouses that cater to golfers. It is a great place for a getaway weekend golf trip because both courses are challenging
    and in excellent condition.
Prior to visiting Ballyliffin I had heard it referred to as 'The Ballybunion of the North'. It fit the bill. The Old Course is rugged with undulating fairways, hidden pot bunkers and some great par 4's.The challenge is a combination of course and conditions as the wind always blows.
Glasheedy Links is truly a championship course. It plays to 7300 yards from the tips. From the first hole a demanding dogleg right to a well protected green right through the last, there is not a weak hole in the mix. My favourite hole is the par 3 Eight. A tee shot from an elevated tee some 150 feet above the green to a well-protected green surrounded by a lake and many bunkers, par is a great score.
Perhaps the most important part of the Ballyliffin experience is the people. We were very impressed by the people of the town and the members of the courses. We plan on returning very soon.

Played the Glashedy Course in December 1999, this was my first experience of golf in Donegal and certainly wasn't disappointed. I have played quite a number of Links Courses throughout Scotland and would put your course up there with the best. The fairways and greens were excellent, add to this the course layout, magnificent views - golfing heaven !!. The consensus amongst the party of 16 golfers was that there was not a weak hole on the course, and a `must play` again in the near future. Many thanks for a superb days golf.

Played Glashedy in July, 1999 and would rank it just slightly behind Ballybunion and ahead of Old Head as golfing experiences. It was undoubtedly the best value of all the courses we played and the staff were extremely gracious and warm. The course itself was in tremendous shape and gave this 19-handicapper everything I could (and in this case couldn't) handle. I'd love to go back!!!

Me and my friend Anders Egerot played both The Old Links and Glashedy links in April 1997 and we found it to be a truly hidden gem, with magnificent views of the bay and the Glashedy Rock, a special thanks to the staff, very warm and friendly! 'Donegal is surely the most enchanting place in Irland'
From two Swedes that surely will return to your beautiful country!
