For sheer value for money and enjoyment I defy anyone to find a better golf course in the area. Although this is a municipal course it stands up to any of the privately run courses in Hertfordshire.
The opening hole is a tough par 4, firing down a steep slope with I believe an old bomb crater waiting to catch your fade/slice at the bottom.
Every hole is different. The par 4 fourth is truly tough in the prevailing wind.
The seventeenth is my personal bogey hole. Clever placement of bunkers, trees and rough on the right hand side approach make it a tough par 4.
If you can, avoid weekends. You are likely to be paired up with another two ball, which may or may not be rewarding.
