Played 25th October. Although it was raining and there was a 30-50 mph cross-wind blowing, it was a highly enjoyable experience. First nine were varied and interesting, going both near the sea and near houses, so the optional temporary insurance policy was well worth the money on the windy day. Second nine back alongside sea, in true links course tradition. Excellent hospitality in limited conditions, with an excellent pint of 'Brains' local ale. Altogether a most enjoyable experience.

Played Sept 98. Pre arranged trip with small society. What can you say about this course other than the fact that it is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Wonderful welcome, wonderful golfing over 27 testing holes played and wonderful hospitality from all members including the Captain and incidentally, wonderful food served by the wonderful chef. If you ever get the chance, play it for the fun of it!!!!!

Being a junior member of the club, my review may be a little biased yet I feel that that in the area, it is one of the best links courses at what are very low green fees and subscriptions. I have a handicap of 16 and this is largely due to my local knowledge of the course as I play about forty times a year and so know many of the bumps and dips around the course. I find it a course that, in specific conditions, can be as difficult as any other in the country. But, I feel that it is a pity that there are so few members joining and enhancing the club, the ideas for the new development of the clubhouse is encouraging and I hope there to be improvements soon.

12 members from Meole Brace Golf Club, Shrewsbury, visited on 11/7/99. Weather glorious, with an off-shore breeze keeping temperatures bearable and adding to the golfing challenge. Played 9 holes am and 18 holes pm. Pre-planning included arranging transport back to the club-house after the morning 9 holes - it's a long walk otherwise. Course in very good condition with narrow fairways, plenty of assorted trouble to punish a wayward shot, and excellent greens - local members felt they were a little slow, but plenty fast enough for us!
Warm and friendly welcome from staff and members, particularly from the Club Captain. Catering was just the ticket and the whole day was very good v.f.m. - well worth a return visit.

Played 4.10.98. Weather conditions sunny with no wind. This is a course with narrow fairways bordered by beach on one side and roadway on the other. (Some of the tees give warnings not to play if vehicles are approaching). Don't let this put you off, a cracking course well worth the visit. The greens were in excellent condition, a credit to the green keeper. Great hospitality and good food, try it and enjoy. Pray there's not a force 8 blowing.
