It should be known that Carrick-on-Shannon is now a full 18-hole golf course (6450 yards), with a new 9-holes (USGA spec greens) constructed on some spectacular land alongside the river, lake and wetlands. Four of the new hole play either over or adjacent to the afore-mentioned features.

Carrick on Shannon Golf Course County Leitrim Ireland
A spectacular tight course with some of the most panoramic views in the North West of Ireland over all its 18 holes. It was a real challenge to my 10 handicap. I'll be back.

The course has recently undergone a transformation to an 18 hole course and whilst the course is obviously still in need of settling down a bit it still provides a great day's golf.
Fantastic scenery, plenty of challenges, and it's impossible to get a bad pint of the local Guiness - what more could you want?
When the course matures it is going to be up there with the best, I have played all the major courses around this area including Enniscrone, Ros's Point, and Strand Hill, and I enjoyed this one the most - maybe the 20 handicap has something to do with that but that's just my opinion.
Can't wait to go back next year!
