Played the course a few times. Nice trk when its dry but fairways are heavy in wet weather. Very difficult par4 1st. Second is an easy par 3 followed by a long 3th. the river is a difficult hazzard on the 4th but if you can work a could tee shot you will be ok.Nice feature par 3 5th over river. 6th is another par 3.tricky sand traps. 7th is easy enough hole i feel . 8th is ok too but the long par 5 9th is tricky. Overall it is a good 9 hole test but maybe one too many par 3's

Im a four handicap yet thouroughly enjoy playing this course.someday soon i hope to master the demanding 5th and get my elusive bogey.yesterday during our centenary i found the suck river twice.i love elvenses from nutrigrain.unreal

I have played Castlerea Golf Club many times...and it is and enjoyable experience. The first of nine holes is a long par four, the second is a very short par three, moving on to a long par five. The fourth is a short par four with a water hazard on the left with bunkers around the big green. The fifth is the shortest on the course, it's under a hundred yards with the river suck right in-front of the tee. The sixth is another short hole with the green beside the clubhouse and bar. The seventh is a uphill battle with surrounding bunkers and trees by the green. The eight is one of the longest holes and has an unusual green. And finally the menacing par five ninth, your tee shot has to be a big one to get in prime position and the green has a few surrounding sand traps. All in all, a good nine holes, worth the trip.
