    To sec manager.
I played your golf course last sunday at 11 o clock with two friends. We enjoyed your course which was in good condition for the time of year.We played 6 holes on the yellow and 9 on the red after we walked off the 5th green on the red we had to wait as there was a slight holdup. The two players behind also caught up on us.We were about to tee off when an elderly gentleman and a female playing partner also walked off the 5th green He approached and told us we were playing from the wrong tee that we should be playing off the 9th tee. After much talking both with us and the people playing behind he still told us we should be playing off the 9th tee.He finally left and played to the 9th green with a female partner. That was the last we seen of him.We were expecting him to apologise to us when we finished but he had vanished.
    Yours in golf,
    Michael Allen.

Totally disagree that the course is scruffy. All golf courses do not look their best in winter and autumn. Donabate is a course that requires excellent course management skills, and is manicured to the very best standards during the summer months. The course staff do an excellent job and the course is playable all year round. Donabate has increased its green fee revenue by over 100% in the last few years thanks to the excellent work of our Golf Administrator, Brian May, and our Professional, Hugh Jackson.Any drain is a safety risk if one is unlucky enough to fall into it! Learn to play properly and drains are not an issue.Hugh can help!! Greg Flanagan.

Course is good and challenging and greens are definitely good but the upkeep leaves an awful lot to be desired. I would call it untidy and scruffy. Drains are in a terrible state and I would say a health hazard especailly one on the Blue nine. Its a pity as it is a good track

The course is great condition and especially the greens are top class. If the wind is strong , the course is very tricky, although it's parkland, the beach is only 1 mile away. Narrow fairways doesn't make the driving easier. The par 3's are all long and difficult to hold the green. Great value for money, sometimes very busy though.

I played Donabate Golf club recently and being a low handicap golfer found
it to be a great challenge, the new greens which they laid certainly added
to the enjoyment and experience. Most fairways now have trees on either side
    to catch any wayward drives.
When the new club houses opens this year and with the excellent 27 holes
course, it is easily one of the best set ups around.

Now a 27 hole complex.Extensive relaying of greens and tree planting have greatly added to difficulty and challenge. Requires accurate driving and precise approach shots. Greens excellent during the summer months.

I have played Donabate Golf Course many times and I truly believe that it is an absolutely brilliant course. At present (1998) it is being changed to a 27 hole course and is being made much more difficult.
