Our group visited in mid-April, I believe we were the first visiting party since the new clubhouse facility was completed. If we were the first, there will be many others. The welcome and service were outstanding and the club and members couldn't do enough for us to make sure we enjoyed our day. The course is definitely one of two halves with the old 9-hole layout demanding accuracy and thought. The new 9 holes through an environmentally sensitive area are longer and require solid shots to keep a score going. The greens for April were just magnificent. Many other clubs would wish for them in mid summer. And as for the scenery, a 360 degree panorama which easily lifts the depression of any bad shot. Bring your walking legs with you however, it is hilly!

Update As of 23rd.March 2002 the club have opened a splendid new clubhouse overlooking the first fairway. This has completed the transition of the club from a 9 hole course with limited facilities into an excellent test of golf over 18 magnificent holes backed by all the facilities a golfer would expect in a new, spacious clubhouse. If you've played here in the past you will not recognize the transition and you can't fail to be very impressed.

An update to this wonderful golf course.
Dunkeld and Birnam Golf Club completed the extension to their golf course to 18 holes, par 69, in the year 2000, with the official opening in September 2000. Open play to the general public commenced with the start of 2001 golfing season.
The golf course has 18 magnificent views over the four points of the compass, through Strathbraan and over the Loch of the Lowes.
Although the land is on a hillside at Fungarth, it is certainly not mountainous. This will be a good test of golf, for both the keen golfer and the novice.

Formally of Letham Farm, Bankfoot and have just visited your website. I played at Dunkeld prior to 1968 often and enjoyed the course very much. When I am back for a visit in May this year I will try to visit. I remember the 'gully' and back, the 8th I think across the road, great fun. Anyway from personal private e-mail and website I enjoyed the visit.

I played Dunkeld this year 1998 and found it a delightful 9 holer which they plan to expand. The course looks to cover the whole of a side of a mountain Every hole has a different view, one over Dunkeld, the 3rd over a loch and these breath taking views can be most detracting to the keen photographer-golfer.You also need to be able to climb like a mountain goat but it is worth it.Lots of gorse to lose your balls in and you play over the road on 2 of the holes. The 7th is a stinker- over the road and you end up
looking at an eagles nest 200 feet above you and you are expected to land your ball in it. 3 of the greens I found unreadable but I could just sit and look out of the rather small club house all day long. Well worth finding on the Blairgowrie road.
