Acorns To Oaks. Re-establishing the Epping Golf Course last played in 1939.
In the past traditional Golf Clubs grew slowly as funds allowed, with the
help of local enthusiasts who had a real sense of ownership and involvement.
Such is Epping Golf Course.
Garage Owner Peter Sjoberg bought the land south of Epping and designed the
holes in the early 90's. His brother Neil prepared the planning application
and organised the volunteers. Under the watchful eye of father Charles
Sjoberg (President), the wider Sjoberg family have all contributed to its
development. Affiliated to the Essex Golf Union in 1998, there is a full
calendar of competitions for ladies, gents and juniors.
Clubhouse facilities are currently limited to a snackbar with hot & cold
snacks, beverages and soft drinks. Construction of a new clubhouse will
commence in March 2002.
Directions From Epping High Street turn south at mini roundabout into Station Road; continue down Bower Hill to the bottom where you will see club sign at entrance to Fluxs Lane.
