Course Details

Course Name: Faithlegg Holes: 18 Yardage: 6626 SSS: 72
Some wicked slopes and borrows on the immaculate greens, a huge 432 yard 17th which has a host of problems, and a dog-legged approach to the 18th green, are just some of the novel features incorporated into this Paddy Morgan designed course. Beautifully set on the banks of the River Suir, the philosophy of the architect was that 'the design solution was in the landscape', and he sensitively integrated the course into a landscape textured with mature trees, flowing parkland and no less than five lakes. This is a golfing tour-de-force.

Don't be fooled by the view of the course from the entrance like I was. There is very little grass on the fairways, the bunkers are formed with quicksand and the greens are grainy with putts bobbling up to the hole. Don't play this course unless you've got plenty of time - it took us 4.5 hours to get around in a 3 ball - and the experience wasn't cheap.Faithlegg has potential in abundance. When this potential is realised it will be a spectacular course but until then - avoid!
