Fastest greens I have ever played on. Very fair course even though I found it difficult to land on the greens. Very well maintained. A tough challenge.

I hae the played the course a number of times over the last few years, and it has improved from being virtually unplayable when first opened to offering a nice enjoyable round of golf.
Sadly the course is still a little short of being in good condition, especially the greens- bare brown patches on 1 or two greens - 8th - and the ball does not run very true. Also the members (or visitors) do not repair their divots and pitch marks. I played after a junior competition and there were pitches marks, divots, & litter everywhere.
There are a few good holes the 3rd the 8th, the 11th, 14th and 16th. Two badly desined holes the 9th and 7th.
Don't eat in the clubhouse - food very average and surly staff.

I am a member at Gort - there was a hude drought this summer and most courses had burnt patches. Peadar Grealish is the head geenkeeper at Gort and most of the time the course is in excellent condition. Agreed about the clubhouse staff - but that appeats to be a general malaise now.

I have played this Golf Course on numerous occasions with a good friend of mine, Denis Doran a member of the Club. Well laid out with beautiful surroundings. A tight course with the use of long irons of a few tees. Very sloping and true greens which are manicured and as fast as any in the country. A warm welcome greets you in the clubhouse and a fine menu. I look forward to my next vist.
