hi i am aaryomaan bose i am 8years old from india coming to play the gullane course for the u s kids european tournament in june.can you please provide me information as to which course will i be playing out of the three....and where i can find detailed description of the course.please advice me on what aspect of the game should i consider during my practice here to play well on your course and if you can forward me an email id of a good caddy whom i can contact who can caddy me for the tournament.

Played Gullane 2 on June 2001,on a sunny and completely windless day. Very narrow fairways to hit off the tee, plenty of pot hole bunkers around the greens and on the fairways. If you can't keep your tee shots out of the rough you find yourself searching in long grass at every hole. The greens and fairways are immaculate and the views when you reach the top of the third hole are well worth the steep climb up to the summit. One word of advice we came as a group of twelve for a golfing weekend and played 9 holes on Gullane 3 in the morning 18 on Gullane 2 in the afternoon. When you finish at hole nine it is roughly two miles back to the club house up and down hills walking across fairways and around greens, annoying for other golfers in the middle of there rounds. We played two other courses.
Whitekirk and Musselburgh (Monktonhall) both were excellent and the club members at Monktonhall where very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Played the course in mid-September 1998. Spectacular day with wisps of
sharp wind. Tricky ups and downs and a few hidden fairway bunkers.
Just like most courses in Scotland, Gullane #2 offers very tricky
rough. Elevated, dry and hard greens require a well-developed
pitch-and-run play 100-yards and in. Do not attempt playing this course
if you are not capable of hitting low, bouncing approach-shots. Forget
'plotting' approaches. Blind shots abound but also spectacular (3 and
17th hole) views where destiny is in the golfer's hands (club).

We played Gullane 1 in August of 1997. We had added it at the last minute, and even though we had told our wives that we would not play a fifth round while we were in Scotland, we did. My partner was a 7 at the time and I was an 8. His caddy's name was George, and George only saw Rich's swing on the first hole and from then on, George would hand Rich a club and tell him how hard or soft to hit the shot.
The golf course was a great challenge. There are many varied holes, 110 yard par 3, a 320 yard, par 4 and then some tough ones, 445 yard uphill par 4 which was fantastic.
If you get a chance to play this one -do it! you'll love it, just ask for George for your caddy.

I am a Gullane Golf Club member and have played here for approximately 20 years - and hence am probably a little biased. I thought the No.2 course requires a review for some our visitors who are looking for a challenging round of links golf in East Lothian. No.1 course is the better course, but just because No.2 is named so does not mean that it is that much less of a challenge, you just need to look at the Summer Meeting scores (1 round on No.1 and another on No.2) as evidence to that. It also represents great value for money for a round at the weekend which is significantly cheaper than No.1 and neighbouring course.

I am a 7 handicap player and played Gullane No.1 in an open tournament during the summer '98. It is a beautiful test of typical links golf and really made for a great days golf. The first hole is relatively easy but this should not lure you in to a false sense of security for the remaining holes are all very dangerous. The course includes some very beautiful views of the Firth of Forth and Muirfield.

Played here in early July as the second of two rounds in one day...and we paid for it! This course can be brutally hard if the wind is up. All the recent rains have made the rough incredibly high, over the knee in places. Views are spectacular as mentioned, with some nice peeks at Muirfiled in the distance. Bunkering was monir compared to some of it's cousins around Scotland, but you MUST stay on the fairway here or you are meat. #2 (Windygate) and #17 (Hilltop) were my favorite holes.
