Hawarden is an Unusual but delightful course and one that can be rather tricky in parts. It must be mentioned that the Groundskeepers do an excellent job as do the course professionals. I would like to express my thanks to Alex Rowland (course professional) for his time and effort and valiant attempts at improving my rather weak game. He is a superb 'teacher' of the game and it is not surprising that his lessons are in great demand. It is coincidental that we share the same surname and that is why I asked for lessons from him. The staff's dedication and time is endless - good job all round!!

I played several rounds at Hawarden while staying in St. Deiniol's Library for five weeks in the latter part of 1995. The course was being extended to eighteen holes at that time, and it was still necessary to use tees on the fairways still being established. It is a delightful Club and includes several challenging holes. The eighteenth is unusual, being a par three, but a delightful hole requiring an accurate short iron from the elevated tee.

I have just become a junior member at Hawarden Golf Club. According to this I find it a bit hilly at some points, the greens a bit untidy sometimes. but mostly a very good challenging course for any age.
    Many Thanks
